CALEDONIA INTERLOPERS COMING TO WOODBRIDGE
by Jeff Parkinson

Feb 26, 2008

Julian Fantino will soon get another chance to use his beloved term “interlopers”, only this time it won’t be Gary McHale, Mark Vandermaas, and myself he’s targeting. A convoy of Caledonia residents who have grown tired of being ignored by the Commissioner will be heading to Fantino’s neighborhood this Sunday March 2 to exercise their legal right to peaceful protest.

It will be a pleasure to join the residents of what Fantino wishes was a forgotten town in raising Canadian flags and presenting facts to the public and the media about the continued lawlessness in Caledonia under the leadership of Julian Fantino.

Regrettably for Mr. Fantino, his OPP will not be able to attend and interfere with this event as it does not fall within their jurisdiction.

Why all this trouble to raise a flag? Some may ask. As we have repeatedly pointed out to the media and the OPP, the Supreme Court ruling of Ramsden v. Peterborough gives us the charter right to hang a flag on any pole we want to, and as Julian personally came to town to deny us this right on January 20, 2007, met with the DCE occupiers that morning and refused to give us the same courtesy, we think the poles on his street are an excellent place to send a message to Mr. Fantino.

There is no better symbol than the Canadian flag to remind Mr. Fantino that we live in a country where the charter of rights and freedoms, and the rule of law trump his personal agenda of attacking our group.

Will Julian bring us some nice hot cocoa? I rather doubt it but we’ll find out very soon. See the official press release here

Message for Fantino’s neighbours re Sunday’s protest

Ordinarily, I would not support the idea of bringing a protest to the home of a police commissioner or play any part in helping expose his home address, but Fantino is a very special case. He has allowed Caledonia’s children to be afraid in their homes because his force takes orders from native thugs not to police the Sixth Line which is NOT part of the Six Nations reserve.

His force refuses to patrol the occupied Douglas Creek Estates in Caledonia thereby giving punks a ‘homefree zone’ (same term used by Ipperwash residents for the former Army base) to evade police.

Fantino has also made outrageously false statements about law-abiding, peaceful, non-native protesters being responsible for the violence in Caledonia, and the cost of policing of the town. He has never seriously criticized – even once – the native lawlessness that has terrorized the town let alone actually single any native thug out for criticism as he has done with Gary McHale.

As top cop, Fantino is responsible for the near-collapse of law and order in portions of Ontario. He refuses to meet or speak with the citizens of Caledonia, but the native occupiers of DCE have met with him and have his cell phone number:

But to the most critical thing. . . the communications thing, I do totally agree, absolutely agree that that is our insurance. And developing that trust, that dialogue, that face to face relationship with people. And that’s why I’m spending the kind of personal time that I am because I want to know these people [native occupiers] and I want them to know me, personally. I want to know them by first name, I want to be able to call them on their cell phone number as they’re able to call me, I want to be on the front end of any potential flare up and that’s worked very, very well for us.

Fantino and the Liberal government have stated they are simply following the recommendations of the Ipperwash Inquiry. Unfortunately, what they aren’t telling you is that the Inquiry deliberately suppressed all evidence of native crimes against Ipperwash residents. The same kind of lawlessness experienced by Caledonia residents for the past two years. Please see the VoC feature, ‘The Ipperwash Papers‘ for complete information about the awful failures of the Ipperwash Inquiry.

Count yourself lucky that we aren’t native extremists so we aren’t violent, we won’t be breaking any laws and we aren’t going to steal your property under the protection of Fantino’s political police force and try to extort money from you.

If you want to understand what the people of Caledonia have been going through, and why they are coming to protest at Fantino’s home, please download a copy of a 101 page report by Canadian Advocates for Charter Equality called, ‘The Human Costs of Illegal Occupations.’

Don’t be afraid, folks, contrary to what Fantino may have told you, the non-native protesters are not the violent ones. I do hope to meet some of you. I’ll be the one holding the sign with a picture of Fantino with a caption that says, “WANTED: Policing for Caledonia’s children.”
